ToggleIntroduction to Dental Implants
- Implant Suitability: Dental implants need both the right technical and chemical properties to achieve osseointegration, the fusion of implant with bone.
- Osseointegration Process: Following implant placement (usually titanium), the body undergoes revascularization and forms a “repair mantle” of bone tissue around the implant surface.
- Connection Strength: While the initial cellular and mechanical connection may be weak, within 3-6 months, healthy bone tissue integration provides sufficient strength to withstand forces in the mouth.
- Biocompatibility: Titanium, a stable material in the biological environment (unless under extreme conditions), avoids negative chemical reactions with the body.
- Reduced Inflammation: The presence of titanium and its alloys helps minimize surrounding inflammation by preventing “catalytic corrosion.”
- High Strength: The impressive rupture strength of titanium (1,000-1,300 MPa) contributes to implant stability.
Overview of Dental Implant Procedures in Turkey
Overall, the dental implant operation involves many stages. For the dental implant process, the bottom line is gingivitis scales. The amount of bone in the space to be implanted and the nose is determined with X-ray or tomography, and the implant is made accordingly. The dental implant procedure provides new teeth with both functional and aesthetic aspects. Additionally, this process is only completed in areas with healthy bone. Dental implants are not possible for smokers. Also, when undergoing drug treatment, having a healthy bone structure is important. In cases of anemia or during pregnancy, dental implant procedures are considered unhealthy.
Dental implant procedures are usually done in two stages. In the first stage, the patient’s jaws are operated on and titanium screws are implanted. In the second stage, this is done after the bone has healed, which is usually 2-6 months later. In this process, the gum is opened and the implants are attached.

- Investigate regional price differences for dental implants (surgery & prosthesis) in private Turkish clinics.
- Analyze price distribution across five geographic regions in Turkey.
- Compare dental implant costs in Turkey vs. other countries.
Factors Affecting Cost:
- Implant brand and manufacturer
- Regional variations within Turkey
Price Variations:
- Prices differ between regions in Turkey and across different countries.
- Some countries offer lower implant prices than Turkey’s average (€196).
- Orthodontic treatment costs can vary; some middle-income countries have lower prices.
Health Tourism & Price Differences:
- Common goods and services contribute to health tourism cost variations.
- Developing countries may subsidize services, impacting competition.
- Developed countries’ consumers still seek dental care in developing countries due to lower costs.
Medical Tourism & Dental Implants:
- Countries promoting health tourism invest heavily in medical services.
- Turkey is a popular dental tourism destination due to affordability.
- Developed countries generally have higher dental implant costs (acceptable quality).
Shifting Trends in Health Tourism:
- Decreasing air travel costs, subsidized healthcare, and product cost reduction in developed countries influence destination choices.
- Patients, including dental patients, are cost-conscious and seek alternatives.
- Many patients research costs and quality before choosing a treatment provider.
What are the expected future trends for dental implants in Turkey price?
For these reasons, lower-level competition activities should be expected, such as monthly special offers or patients’ group pressures for promoting implant in dental clinics in the future. The most important point here should not be ignored, that is the scientific basis for the cheaper materials from local manufacturers which have no records for the low probabilities of the biological integration and the possible long-term side effects of the materials used. In fact, there have recently been large increasing numbers of scientific papers being published, as the biocompatibility, of course, expected to be the major concern for the clinics. In conclusion, prosthetic contemporary gently preloading the implants with reactive prosthodontic consequence. The material and method adapt high-quality dental implants.
While the general promotion of branding in healthcare is expected to achieve a dominant position with the enacting regulations, implant material manufacturers are, of course, the best income controllers in the future because of dominating patent portfolios. This is seen as inevitable because the first-stage implant prices are now comparable to the cost of stainless steel.
There is currently no reasonable expectation of decreasing costs for dental implants in Turkey. Economic predictions, along with the experience of the increasing rate in consumption, seem to detract from further decreasing trends in the future. On the contrary, the price is expected to rise with the supplementary requirements caused by the modern
Conclusion and Recommendations
Edentulism is a condition that significantly affects the aesthetics and functions of the face and therefore has a negative effect on the social and professional life of the individual who experiences it. People with missing teeth try to restore their missing teeth with the advantage of newly developed techniques in dentistry and the development of dental health. Dental implant applications, which are one of these recent studies, offer a permanent solution to people with missing teeth. The aim of this study is to determine the cost of dental implants in Turkey. The study consisted of a total of 68 patients, 1,953 implants, 282 implant-related surgeries, and the costs of other operations related to these surgeries were analyzed. The mean cost of implant material was found to be $1,523.25 (±$507.46), the cost of the abutment was found to be $345.74 (±$182.84), and the cost of the superstructure was found to be $306.81 (±$152.07). As a result, during an implant surgery, a patient paid approximately $7,778.51.
